A T20 cricket match against Christleton cricket club will form part of Chester Football Club’s pre seasons preparations.
The game will take place on Thursday 9th July at Christleton’s Little Heath ground, close to the centre of the village.
The game will commence at 6.15pm and will give local supporters the opportunity to see some of Chester’s summer signings for the first time. Christleton play in Division One of the Cheshire County League and will include overseas player Mitch Renwich in their side. The New Zealander was the first league player to reach 500 runs for the season and has recently featured for the Hampshire’s second team.
Chester Manager, Steve Burr, a keen cricketer himself, is looking forward to the fixture:
“It is always great to be able to bring the squad together, early in pre-season training, in a team building environment.
We also appreciate that local fans will be keen to meet the new players.”
Asked whether he was a batsman or a bowler, Steve said he considered himself to be a “value for money all-rounder”!
Admission to the game will be £3, children under 16 will be admitted free of charge.
