A good turnout for our AGM

Josh Morgan Jones re-elected as first team captain with Josh Joseph taking over as vice captain.
Ian Mitchell continues as second team captain with Pete Roberts and Adam Gittins as joint vice-captains.
Ian Wade continues as Sunday captain.
Great to hear about the superb work of our junior section.
Mandy Harding takes over as Club Sec…thankyou to Jacqui Gittins for all her hard work in the role over the last 6 years.
Great to have our groundsmen at the meeting and be able to pass on our appreciation of everything that they do.
Lots of exciting things in the pipeline.

A good weekend all round

It’s been a busy weekend at the club, with wins for our first team, Sunday side and under 11’s.

The under 18’s were also in action last week when they were beating by a very strong Runcorn side.

We were unable to field a second team on Saturday due to a number of other events (Duke of Edinburgh Awards , exam revision, stag weekend !!!!) but we’re back to having people available this weekend which is great.

It’s junior training tonight, the under 11’s are away at Kingsley , seniors training on Tuesday and the under 15’s are away at Kingsley on Thursday night.     A busy week ahead.

Good effort from all involved.

Thanks to Alvanley for pulling a team together at short notice after our scheduled opponents withdrew, and thanks to the following Christleton players for helping Alvanley to field when they were short of numbers:

Freddie 0/8

Jude 2/7

Ciaran 0/9

Vice Presidents day a great success

It was great to see so many people at the Vice Presidents Day on Saturday.

It is always good for our current players to see so many ex-players,many of whom watch games on a regular basis,at the club and hear about past games.

There were a number of VP’s present who had travelled some distance to attend the day and we really appreciate the efforts that they made.

It was also great to have Ian Wade from the Ring O Bells with us to present the club with a cheque for £1,519.This was the proceeds of the pubs charity burger in recent months.

Ian is a great supporter of the club and coaches our under 13 team. Thank you for all your support Ian.

T20 at club this Thursday

This Thursday we entertain Widnes in a first team cup game.

It is a 6.15 start and promises to be a good night.

A good week for the club

It’s been a busy week at the club with lots of positive things happening.

Last Thursday there was a close defeat for our under 9’s away to Alvanley in difficult batting conditions at Helsby High School playing field. Encouraging performance with bat and ball.

Our Under 11’s beat Grappenhall by 30 runs last Monday night.

At the weekend our first team won a very close game away at Alvanley. One of the most encouraging things about that was the presence in the team of 4 lads who have come through our own junior section (Harry Peel,Josh Morgan Jones,Oli Morgan Jones and Vice Captain Matt Astbury).

On Sunday our friendly team beat County Officers. We had two youngsters making their debuts in senior cricket.Max Wade took 2 wickets and Louis took 3,well done lads.

Last night it was the turn of our under 18’s to taste victory when they defeated Tattenhall in the first group game of the County under 18 competition. There were 50’s for Tom Wells and Sam Brierley before Tom then took 3 wickets in an impressive opening spell.

All in all a pretty good week for Christleton CC

Christleton host Chester FC in T20 game
